Innovation Valley Brings Record Numbers to 2015-16 Fiscal Year
Innovation Valley is celebrating a strong start to 2015-16 fiscal year with a diverse pipeline of new recruits and existing industry expansions announced from July 1 – December 31, 2015.

Innovation Valley is celebrating a strong start to 2015-16 fiscal year with a diverse pipeline of new recruits and existing industry expansions announced from July 1 – December 31, 2015. In total, Innovation Valley welcomed 10 expansions and eight new recruits to the region, representing 3,117 new jobs and a staggering $1.3 billion in capital investments committed.
Notable new recruits include Lifetime Products November 2015 announcement of $115 million and 500 jobs located in Knox County’s Eastbridge Business Park, and Advanced Munitions International October commitment of 605 new jobs and $553 million global headquarters in Blount County. Existing industries such as Denso, Jewelry Television, and Regal Entertainment Group, each announced expansions throughout the region.
“Innovation Valley continues to position itself as the best place for business in the U.S., and I am so pleased with the success our region experienced during the first half of its fiscal year,” said Doug Lawyer, vice president of economic development for the Knoxville Chamber. “We continue to see strong interest in our region as we actively recruit a robust pipeline of industry within our target recruitment clusters of advanced technology and manufacturing, corporate services, creative media services, energy, and transportation.”
